Diagnostics

How a technician diagnoses it

Our technicians follow the factory diagnostic path for this fault.

  1. 1The hotcupboard does not draw heat from the parent AGA and is not on the eR7 electronic control — it has its own elements, preset thermostat and limit thermostat.
  2. 2Element access: remove the cast-iron dividing shelf, lift the rear grid upwards, remove the two element screws and pull the element to the right to expose the connections.
  3. 3Thermostat, overheat thermostat and switch assembly access: remove the four chrome buttons and stay nuts and prop the top plate, taking care to avoid enamel damage.
  4. 4Normal behaviour: from cold, approximately 40 minutes to a stabilised temperature.

Safety & DIY disclaimer

Guides on this site are for information only. Appliance repair involves 240V electricity, gas connections, refrigerant and heavy cast-iron parts — anything you do yourself is at your own risk and can damage the appliance or cause injury. The safe option is to book a qualified technician.
