## What is usually behind it

- Cooling fan motor failed (most common)
- Cooling fan box airflow obstructed (common)
- Electrical connection to the fan assembly failed (common)
- Normal heat rise with the oven door left open (not a fault)

## How a technician diagnoses it

1. Distinguish normal from fault: knobs warming from heat rising out of an open oven door is normal. An excessively hot FASCIA during normal closed-door use points to cooling fan failure.
2. Access the cooling fan assembly from the REAR of the appliance. Protect the floor and move the range forward.
3. Remove the six securing screws from the fan assembly box, move the assembly away and disconnect the electrical connection.
4. The cooling fan is held into the metal cover by three screws — remove them and replace the fan.
5. Reassemble in reverse, restore all electrical connections, and carry out earth bond and hi-pot electrical safety tests.
