# Range oven fan noisy

> Range oven fan noisy: symptoms, likely causes and how a technician diagnoses it. Occasional AGA issue. Mon–Sun 8:00AM–8:00PM. Call or text 206-427-7323.

Occasional issue — here is how we diagnose it, which parts are usually involved, and when to call a pro.

**Occasional** · Professional repair only

## What you will notice

- Fan noise changing or increasing
- Rattling or grinding from the oven cavity

## What is usually behind it

- Normal — the note of the oven fan changes as the oven heats up (not a fault)
- Convection/stirring fan bearing worn (genuine fault)
- Fan blade contacting the baffle plate (common after a previous repair)

## How a technician diagnoses it

1. Set expectations: a changing note during heat-up is normal.
2. For grinding/rattling, remove the oven fan baffle plate (4 screws) and inspect the fan and its clearance.
3. Check the baffle plate was refitted correctly after any earlier thermostat or element work.
