## What is usually behind it

- Flame supervision device (FFD) not being heated enough — knob not held long enough (customer technique, check first)
- FFD thermocouple failed or dirty (most common genuine fault)
- Gas tap / valve fault (common)
- Weak flame due to blocked ports or wrong orifice (common)

## How a technician diagnoses it

1. Every cooktop burner has a safety device that stops gas flow if the flame goes out. It must be overridden by holding the knob in so gas flows and the flame sensor heats up.
2. Instruct: turn the control off, wait one minute, then retry holding the knob in slightly longer.
3. If it still drops out, test the FFD/thermocouple and the gas tap.
4. Service note: if more than one gas tap is faulty, remove and replace only one at a time to avoid mixing up connections.
