## What is usually behind it

- Water filter clogged or not seated properly (most common)
- Water supply line kinked when the refrigerator was pushed back (very common)
- Saddle valve on the cold water pipe clogged or restricted (common)
- Ice maker wire signal arm held down by a fallen package (common)
- Freezer control set too warm (common)
- Low water pressure (well systems) or RO system in regeneration (installation specific)
- Expectation mismatch — 2 to 2.5 lb per 24 hours is normal output (not a fault)

## How a technician diagnoses it

1. Remove and re-install the water filter, pushing firmly until it locks solidly into position. Replace it if it is six months old or older.
2. Confirm the supply line does not kink when the refrigerator is pushed against the wall.
3. Turn off the household water line valve, remove and clean the valve; confirm it is not a self-piercing saddle valve, and replace if necessary.
4. Move any obstruction and release the ice maker wire signal arm.
5. Set the freezer control colder and allow 24 hours to stabilise; press Fast Freeze to temporarily boost ice production.
6. On well systems, have the pump cut-off and cut-on pressures raised. On RO systems, below 20 psi during regeneration is normal.
