## How a technician diagnoses it

1. Check both upper and lower spray arms move freely before starting a cycle.
2. Clean the spray arms per the owner's guide procedure.
3. Clean the filters.
4. Check water hardness: if unknown, use 15 ml / 3 tsp of detergent. Increase if white marks appear on glassware. Get local hardness in grains per gallon or ppm from the water supplier and set the hardness level accordingly.
5. Check rinse agent and salt indicators (salt on models with a salt container).
6. If mechanical checks pass, test the circulation pump and heating element.
